Assistant Sports and Intramurals Editor Khalil Stewart is January’s Student Employee of the Month.  Khalil is a junior communications major from Birmingham, Alabama.  The son of Naila Jackson and Marques Stewart, Khalil graduated from Spain Park High School where he engaged in a number of activities including track and field and a member of the Pride of the Park Marching Band where he played the clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone.  Since arriving at Alabama State University, he has chosen to major in communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism.  His expected date of graduation is spring 2024.  His career aspirations are to become a sports reporter and eventually host his own nationally syndicated radio talk show.   He selected Alabama State University because he has a long history of family members that attended this HBCU.
